Split kindergarden
After Mr. Forsyth read us this, I kept thinking back to my old school and how so many classes there were mixed. I was never in one, but if I picture myself suddenly being put from playing to strict schooling, I would be in shock. After all those lectures Mr. Forsyth gave us on learning through exploring, I really think this school year of play is recommended. As you get older, you get more mature, and maybe that stuff would be more suitable then. When you are young though, you just want to explore and have fun, and learn while doing it. I do think this is important. Mixing the two things might cause some sudden change for the kindergardners. It is best to adapt as you grow, and they are young and just starting out so the system might be harder for them to follow. Those are my thought on split kindergarden and I don't think this affects the grade 1's as much.

Reflection 5
Description:
This page shows previous publications of college documents. It orders the documents in alphabetical order. It links the title of the document to a PDF file. The layout is basic and the list of documents is long.
Review
When I looked over the page on publications, I was a bit confused. If I were looking for specific documents, I think I would have trouble finding what I wanted to look for. Instead of alphabetical order, I think it would be easier to group them in categories. The list is really long so you can't simply browse through them easily. The layout seems simple enough, but to preview the publications, you must have a PDF reader which might also cause some trouble. Overall I think the layout is simple and basic enough for people to understand and be able to use the page effectively. Good.

AFRICENTRIC PLAN SPARKS CONCERNAfter you read us the article, I truly thought about how the black people would respond to how some of the white and asian parents responded. By saying the school would be less safe, I think more racism is involved towards the black people. By giving this reason, I think they further the argument and cause even more commotion. I feel this way because I think I have an idea on what some of these parents mean when they say less safe. I have notified of many bad neighborhoods and have even been in one where I have been mugged once. The people that mugged me were black. I don't want this to turn into a racist comment itself so I'll end it here.
Teaching in the 21st century
What really stood out for me or stood out at all was how at the start, they compared our education to that of other countries. To be honest the rest did not really interest me. Anyway I like the idea of how countries compare themselves to other countries to see what they can do better. Competition is a good thing in my eyes. You see what other people can do and do better to keep up with that person. With this, I think education is ever so growing. With this motivation to keep going, you think of new ways, faster ways, ways to get better. By doing all this you really enhance whatever it is you are competing against and it favors everyone! This also kind of reminds me of the Flat Classroom Projects. New ways made to enhance learning and really helping students like this are already being done.

Reflection 3
Hello. I think if we all organized ourselves as a class and each came up with a separate individual line, it would've seemed not so awkward when someone said the same line, and the viewers of the video will not get confused as much, maybe thinking we made an error.
I like the idea of the different scenery, it makes the video look less boring because theres something new to expect. Although I think time was wasted, if more time was spent rehearsing the lines I also think the delivering of lines would be much clearer and more enthusiastic.
Maybe when video editing, a little twist or two could be made to perhaps make the video more amusing or cool so it wouldn't seem like every person just stood and read a line. Presenting the topic of Shakespeare might be hard to get people to into it (well me at least), but I do like the fun facts about his sexuality in there, along with a couple weird ones like the way he spelt his name. Not just some random line from his autobiography.
Despite all this, I did enjoy the video. It still seemed like time well spent and it was fun making it too. The idea of a montage is excellent within a class to get everyone involved. So this video=good

To be honest I thought the story was kind of foolish. I knew it kind of seemed to get a message across, but the way they did it was kind of silly. What really affected me was how cool the rejected wife was ok with it. She didn’t seem to upset about it. This really shows calmness in a person and it also shows that sometimes you can just let it go. This made me really think about not trying to get revenge, or not being too mean and to think about the situation. She is a good role model in this way.
For being good and taking in those guinea fowls, only good came to her. Although good doesn’t always come to those who do well, I liked how they portrayed her as generous to the animals, and the animals returning the favor. I really like a good ending with some good morals. In real life I think the rejected wife could be portrayed as a victim of bullying, and the husband as the bully. The new wife could also represent the bully. The guinea fowls could be the victim’s friends aiding him/her through this tough situation. By thinking of this, I think I could more easily relate to this situation.
Overall, I do think this was a good story, and it could teach new lessons and morals.

Reflection 1
After watching the movie I was so pleased with how Sam Browne was still alive. After all that he’s done; smuggling the drugs, running away, he still managed to stay alive. We didn’t reach the end of the movie, but I was glad that after he was caught, he now had a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. Even after all those mischievous things, he is able to redeem himself and just knowing that made me glad that we didn’t just finish the movie.
Another thing that stood out for me was his father’s love for his son. Sam’s father was so loving of his son, he was able to risk his life in jail for it. That really shows his care for his son. When he got interviewed and was asked why he fixed the copter, he said he’d rather spend jail time then watch his son die in a accident knowing he could’ve saved him. That moved me so much. The father-son relationship was very real here. I was really wondering if Sam felt the same.
All in all, I think watching this has taught me many important lessons in life. The risks of committing crimes and the impact on others.
